„Beauty and Dynamics of Solo with Fan vs. Group Improvisation“

With Katarzyna Lidia (The Siren Society, Poland)
Workshop Fee on a Sliding Scale: €18-30
Incl. recording available for four weeks after the festival

What are the most important differences between performing a solo dance and group improvisation? What are the possibilities of exploring movement, interpreting music and, most of all, playing with a prop? We will go through the characteristics of dancing in a group step by step, we will look at the work (and responsibility) of the leader. We will do this for a better exploration of solo dance (and not mixing one with the other). In the latter Katarzyna will encourage you to individual expression, play with dynamics and with the prop itself

(where does the fan lead you, what shapes do you create?). We will learn about different ways of opening the fan, powerful combinations and skillful transitions.

You will need a dance fan (ca. 32 cm long) that opens easily

6-7.30 pm CET
